i already got an 80 series flowmaster exhaust system.. id like to get headers.. and a cat converter.. or whatever gives it a mean sound. the flowmaster itself has given me a stronger sound but still want louder/nicer/meaner.

such as... best brand for my car... etc. =)

Just get a V8! LOL. Your not going to get a V8 sound outa a V6. Kind like trying to make a Honda sound like a Harley, it just don't work. About the only thing you can hope for is to make it louder, but its not going to sound much deeper. Good luck what ever you do. Phil

Unless you plan to add nos, a blower, or a new cam and port the heads etc, I wouldn't waste your money on headers. You'll end up spending around $400for the headers and about the same to have them installed unless you know how to weld. Since your 2000 has the tubular exhaust manifolds, your not really going to pick up to much horsepower with the headers. If you decide to get headers anyway, your v6 won't sound like a v8, but it will sound better and deeper with headers and a high flow cat. I have headers and a borla on my 96RS and its much deeper than stock. If you get headers, stay away from RKsport headers. My leak at the egr valve and the driver side flange where the header meets the y pipe.
Try Clear Image or pace setter. I think Summitracing sells the pace setter headers.

my exhaust right now sounds pretty good startnig up and if you put your ear close the the exhaust tips it has a nice sound... not as loud as id wish but it seems as if it has potential........ ill give the headers and hi flow cat a shot

Just get a V8! LOL...

I second that idea, V-6's will always sound like V-6's, no matter what you do! :D

You want loud :D?

SLP Loudmouth with a Magnaflow Hi-Flow Cat. I've got that setup on my GTP and it's loud enough to make the radio almost useless. I'm going to put a glasspack on to make it more tolerable.

Ya I myself have always been partial to the loud annoying chainsaw/moped sound. Don't go big on v6 exhaust or it will sound horrid

www.cz28.com has a v6 section, that will be more than you need. Go look them up and ask the same question and you'll get a ton of advice

magnaflow, catco, random technology all make decent performance cats for the v6. If you live in a area where they do emissions, you might run into a problem with switching your cat. Most shops won't touch a properly functioning cat.

I know if you want more power the z28 is the easiest way there, but the v6 has decent power, is much easier to insure, and gets 29 mpg. There are some folks on the website below running 12's and I think some in the 11's. I know it cost more to get a v6 into the 11's, but hey a v6 running 11's will certainly grab its share of attention

Whose v6 camaro gets 29 mpg???? I'd like to see that.

My buddy's 2.73 geared LS1 got that, and my GTP gets 31-33 on the highway if I stay out of the boost.

You might even try just running with no muffler all the way out back.

A performance cat may just muffle it enough so that you get what you want??

Or at the least, you might have to install a short W/D/T smooth perforated inner pipe glasspack somewhere in the pipe past the cat. to act like a resonator to tone it down.. I'd try putting it if needed as far back as possible and then with a tailpipe past it.

My 96RS with a 3.8 gets 29 mpg on the highway if I don't beat on it and I got 3.42 with an auto.
