ok well after i blew the headgasket on my 385 and got water in the oil,i put it all back together and it was clearing up(the oil) then on my 2nd oil change of the day, turned back milk white....it had been running for a while for who knows how long with all that water in the oil,so i said to heck with it and pulled the motor again, since im gonna need to get the block checked this time to see where the water is coming from :(
anyways,i started checking bearings and this is what i found....kinda weird b/c all my rod bearings were in great shape, but my 2 middle mains were trashed, and the rest were showing copper...
i dont think they spun,b/c they were still in the registers(thats the first thing i thought when i saw how black they were form heat).....,but they did lose thier crush.....well heres the pics, let me know what you guys think so i can try to keep it from happening again.
P.S...the clearance on the mains spec'd out ok the day i assembled it
