DUMB question!! Can I fix timing that's 180 out by simply moving the spark plug wires around 180? I can't think why I'd need to pull out the dist and turn it 180..... Thanks...........

Sure you can if the wires are long enough but their positions on the cap will be kind of unique. It's no big deal to turn a distributor 180*. I think you would be happier doing it the correct way.

The 'Dumb' answer is Yes...
But, working on the car in the future (both for you and others ;) ) will be easier if you put things right now - while you know what the problem is and how to fix it.
It could be real frustrating to have a wire or two get unknowingly moved to the 'correct location'(s) at some later attempt to repair something and have to go through all this again...

You're both right. I'll do it the RIGHT way, and turn the dist. Much appreciate the guidance..........
