Hello, I have 89 camaro. My car has been overheat since last year. it overheats when I drive slow or stop. And coolant boils. by the way, the fun always should work when engine is on? ..... Do you have idea? thank you.

On the 89 Camaros, you have an electric fan that is activated by a temperature sensor and a switch. The fan will turn on when the temperature reaches 3/4's of the way on the temperature gauge usually around 235- 240 degrees and turn off at 220 degrees. Check your fan and all the connections to the fan motor. Also check the fan relay which should be at the right side of the radiator (Battery side). If they are good then you probably have a faulty temperature switch/sensor.

Bit off subject...
Elecrtic fan, temp sensor, temp sensor switch...and thats just the fan.
And on modern cars they call it effecient, power save what ever....If u buy a brand new car(s) and afford to keep them brand new.
Then..sell them on for the next guy, most problery with family kids, not the best pay in the world but does ok...and all these things then go wrong.
Old style water pump, fan stuck on the end and a raditor...lasts to the 3 rd or 4th owner then trashed. Or restored lol
I just dont go for all this modern stuff.
My Van doesnt even have a water pump..its capilary cooled.
It doesnt even have an ignition switch to go wrong.. turn a switch and press a big button..
Another is elecrtic windows..who needs them? The van doesnt even have window winders. they side up and down by a clip on the top of the glass.
And these electonic locks...door locks and a key last forever...the van doesnt have locks, on the inside, just a little lever to stop the window falling down.
Then there are all these switches on the column...all in one...it breaks half the functions of the car fall over...like the lights, indicators, wipers.
Wipers...a single switch, why even one on the dash...van has a wiper motor for each side with a switch on the back...no wiring to go wrong....
Radios..tells the time alsorts of other stuff ..nothing to do with radio...or driving...why have horns when ppl cant hear them cause of a radio...Van doest have a radio either.
Heaters, blow hi blow low, blow in the middle, each side...Damn all I want is a warm car...Remeber that "doesnt even have a water pump..its capilary cooled." ?
hmm got to figure out how to get a good heater into the van....
