View Full Version : where is # 1 plug go on a msd pro billet dist importkiller69ss Jun 1st, 06, 04:19 PM took my wires and all off my dizzy and now for the life of me cant remember where numb one wire goes on the cap..any info would be great trying to get my car wrapped up soon rlovell383 Jun 1st, 06, 04:33 PM It can go where ever you want it to go. Most people put it on the post pointing mostly towards the #1 plug. It looks the neatest that way. It sounds like you need to bump the motor over with your finger over the plug hole to find TDC(firing) and reset the timing again. Randy cody Jun 1st, 06, 05:46 PM yes, just bump the motor over until you feel compression coming out of the number #1 cylinder with your finger and the plug out. Then with a wrench on the harmonic balancer, align up the timing marks so its at 12 BTDC, and then just put the #1 sparkplug wire on the terminal that the rotor is pointing directly at. importkiller69ss Jun 1st, 06, 06:14 PM well motor isnt hooked up..just rebuilt it..it is already one top dead center... cody Jun 1st, 06, 06:15 PM well just make sure the rotor is pointing at wherever you put the number 1 spark plug wire, and if this is a brand new motor with a flat tappet cam, I highly recommend you get familiar with how to setup the timing on a new motor(sorta how i just explained) before you go and try to fire a brand new motor, and wipe the cam from it not starting because the timing wasnt' right |
