In 1969 on the SS, did Chevy offer disc brakes on the front only? with no disc brake booster? If so, how do these work at stopping the car? Curious because I had a 67 without power brakes and it was hard stopping her. She would run however.

As far as I can find out, it was a 67 option only. 68 up used the booster. all first gen Camaros had front discs as an option. And I think it was separate from the SS package. I've got a 67 SS that came with ft drums.
The Z/28 had front discs as a "mandatory" option. I think was how they called it.
Anyway if you ordered a Z/28 you had to also order some "required" options in order to get it.

A '69 SS should have power front disk brakes. A select few camaros did come with JL8 4-wheel disk brakes....rare option!

mccory I take it then that the 69 ss w/front disc would have the booster as well if it is a real SS?

mccorry is correct, and to clarify, all 69 SS cars had power front disc brakes.
