i am trying to figure out what distributor i should go with and was wanting some opinions. i have a msd 6al box already my engine builder recomended a pro-billet msd and blaster coil. what about a hei ? i have a bb 427 10.25 comp, a single plane semi high rise intake, a 750 mighty demon carb and comp cams xr294hr cam. any sugestions or opinions on ignition systems would be a great help.

sorry for the spelling

Pro-billet... it all works together.

I vote for the MSD Pro Billet also. I've seen new ones (#8361) recently on ebay for a little under $200.

The HEI will work fine but the big cap on them sometimes hits the firewall.

I also have a Pro Billet with a 6AL box and a Blaster 2 coil. Great combo.

all HEI's can do the same thing i have an accel thats hooked up to my 6al, with that box all it functions as is a magnetic pickup to trigger the spark. you pull the computer out of it. so a junk yard HEI could do the same thing. the only advantage of the aftermarket stuff is billet parts and tighter tolerances (somtimes)
