Hey all. I installed new motor mounts and used the same exact ones that came off. 327s. Anyway, after bolting it all up, my drivers side mount bolts in perfectly to the frame mount. But my passender side is about 1/4 inch, maybe less off. The engine basically needs to come down a 1/4 inch. I have tried prying, putting the engine in gear and torque the motor over. I just cant seem to get that last 1/4 inch. So I had to put a smaller bolt through the frame/motor mount holes. Is this due to the stiffness of the new rubber? I was going to run in for a few miles with the smaller bolt in place to see if the engine would settle down on it? Any suggestions?
I have both 327 frame mounts and 327 engine mounts.

Nope, I have 2 different mount sizes. the 327 and the 350 sizes. I tried them both and the 327 mounts fit. The 350 were too tall. I also measured all the dimensions and hole centers to centers and the mount I took off was indeed the same 327 size.
I bought both sizes because I knew that I would need one or the other. So I know I have the right mounts.
Thanks for the input. Hopefully someone can come up with a solution better then mine.

I think you are trying to mix frame mounts and engine mounts. If you want to use the 327 frame mounts, you must also use 327 engine mounts. I would personsally use the 302/350 frame mounts and engine mounts. These mounts seem to get the best header clearance, and they will allow for an 8" harmonic balancer. If you use a large cap HEI, you will need to "dent" the firewall for clearance. Please read up on frame and engine mounts on David Pozzi's web site. http://www.pozziracing.com/camaro_engine.htm

I bought a set of 350 motor mounts and had the exact same problem. After several hours of trying everything I took them back. I got another set that had the exact same number and they worked fine. By the way, they were made in India!
