Got my car back from getting a stereo put in and it had a noise in the motor. I told one of the guys that it might just be a fouled plug, well I got it home and attempted to drive it and clearly it wasn't a plug. I pulled the engine and it had spun #7 rod bearing, only has 860 miles on it. I called the guy back and he said it never left the store, (they had it 2 weeks) I didn't check the mileage so I dont know if they drove it. I'm taking it to my machine shop and I'll see what they say about it. What do yall think happened?

Just remember $hit happens...I do not even have a tank of gas through my rebuild and I have had to pull the heads and have them fixed.

Teenagers working for minimum wage, a hot car and no supervision. What do you think happened?

Sad but true. Most modern youth unfortunately have no concept of personal responsibility, or sense of ethics.

Yea, I kinda thought that someone cranked it up and immediately mashed the gas pedal to the floor before the oil had time to build pressure, most of the bearings had brass showing. I just hope they will pay for it.

Sorry to hear of your bad news. I hate to point the finger, but it seems too coincidental especially if it was there for 2 weeks (lots of time to fool with your car). Thank you for sharing this because it just taught me a lesson with respect to checking the odometer before allowing someone to work on my car. Something that I wouldn't have thought about doing up until now. Keep us posted on your learnings. Good luck with getting her back on the road. Just curious if they had the radio cranked up when you got in it to intentionally keep you from hearing the engine noise until you got out of there?

That's exactly what they did but I turned it down to load it onto the trailer and new something was wrong, the engine just didn't sound right. I'm glad I said something to the guy there about the motor having a skip in it before I took it home.
