Rondteal@bellsouth.net Jan 15th, 02, 07:37 AM Not ear wax!
What kind of Wax do you guys recommend for a new paint job that has just been buffed? The car has Base coat, Clear Coat.
Spames Jan 15th, 02, 08:10 AM From what I have heard in the past, don't wax it for at least 1 month.
One I just picked up, and still beads after a month of daily driving is Turtle wax **** the new kind - has some sort of additives in it. It was pretty cheap (around 6 bucks) compared to some of the 10-15$ bottles of snake oil out there.

67rsmoneypit Jan 15th, 02, 01:54 PM use a carnuba style of wax - this allows the paint to continue breathing, don't use any teflon or sealer type. try maguires wax, I don't remember which number but start with a wax that has no cleaners in it - just pure carnuba. then like karate kid - wax on, wax off.
68ragtop Jan 15th, 02, 04:18 PM I like to use a polish, like meguires no 7. It's not a wax, it won't bead up water, but it's great stuff (for under a wax)
