I guess you are asking what material? Many people use dead soft copper or alumin , but I have had no issues with Ultraseal Black Mr Gaskets. If the surfaces are out then neither will hold.

I really like Fel-Pro Performance steel core laminate 1404.

the only thing that holds on mine are hooker white paper, the expensive copper ones leaked too, mostly i think because the port holes in them were too big.

I called hooker and they recommended 10808-Hkr. They are stock port gaskets. I ended up ordering Felpro 1444. It states stock port also.

Guess I'm late on this, but if those leak.....
I've used quite a few types of exhaust gaskets, some have worked for me (like the graphite looking ones) some not so much (paper). But, I got a set of earls pressure masters free with my hooker super comps, figured they were a gimmick but used them anyway, and they are hands down the best I have ever used. I went to retorque them after awhile and they were still tight, no retorque ever has been needed.
I've had the headers off/on a couple times, and they are still 100% leak free. A bit pricey but worth every penny, I hate exhaust leaks.
