I am close to wrapping up my body work. I am not taking the car down to bare metal, but I am scuffing the factory finish heavily and I plan to just prime the car for now and probably paint a year down the road. With that in mind, I was thinking I should apply a primer surfacer to help take care of any sanding marks, etc. and then epoxy prime on top of that to seal it all up. Does that sound like the right way?

I will be driving the car between now and next year, so I hope the epoxy primer is all I need to do to protect the body. As of right now, I am still torn between Kirker or Omni brands.

Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Althu expoxy is a good sealer, it is not designed to protect from the elements of driving
Undercoats have a talc to build them, these absorb moisture, so it is not a good idea to drive with undercoat. Nor is it a good idea to leave for very long periods before painting...It not only obsorbs miosture but hardens off making to paint hard to bond well ....
Going down this route creates problems in finished paint like small bubbles, easy chipping, and even early rust bubbles.

I'd put the epoxy on first then the surfacer. Epoxy will resist moisture penetration, but it needs to be protected from the sun until you top coat it.

I'm doing the epoxy "sandwich" epoxy on bare metal then filler and another coat of epoxy, I also will be painting at a later time.
