I have a leak on my TH350, it started during the winter when sitting in the garage.
It is now much better now since I replaced the Pan Gasket and the Speedo Sleeve O-Ring a week ago.
I still have a leak, the Driver Side Front Corner Bolt is full of oil (it has a drop of oil on its head) !!!
I have a bit of oil on the linkage, but not much, not enough for what's on the garage floor.
Could it be leaking from the Pan Bolts Threads? Do they need to have silicon on their thread before putting them in?
I know that the oil level needs to be verified when the engine is running and at normal temp, but I'm curious, how high is the Tranny Oil level when cold, how much would it be above full line? The level was fine when I parked the car in the garage on Sunday.
Any ideal or suggestions.
Thanks, Daniel.

Use an Accopac or Farpak gasket with NO sealant, and torque pan bolts to 95 in/lbs. No sealant on bolts either. Take a peek at the shift shaft seal, many forget that as a leak source. If it's leaking you have two options. Find an oldtime trans guy with a Kent-Moore tool to pull the seal with the shift shaft in place (remove the plate and the tool sits right over the shaft, and then 'threads' into the seal to pull it out...) or else drop the pan, remove the nut on the inside end of the arm, then pull it out to access the seal. Oil level should be a bit below full when warmed up and running in park.

I have a cork gasket and I just re-torqued the pan bolts, they were a bit loose.
Will see tomorrow morning if it leaked.

Had the same problem. Two gasket changes = two leaks.
Got a pan gasket from www.realgaskets.com.
They sell aircraft grade hi-temp silicone gaskets that solved my problem.
A little pricey, but I highly recommend them.

I can confirm that the leak is from the linkage shaft!!! I tied a rag around the shaft, and I had no leak overnight.
Does anyone has a picture of the linkage shaft seal?
What is the part number of the linkage shaft?
Thanks Guys,
Daniel.

My 700r4 is leaking there. Called my trans guy. He said it will leak when the car is stopped (fluid high in tranny). When the car is running and the fluid level drops then it will not leak because the fluid is below the level of the leak. In short I can put a quart in and drive it to the trans shop.

I can try to take a photo later. It's just a metal clad rubber seal along the lines of a rear axle or front brake grease seal sort of design.
