View Full Version : Is this 69 Camaro on Ebay worth $13100
jsabowabo Jun 20th, 06, 01:57 PM Ok, here's the story. I won the auction on this car thinking this was a real SS350 car that had had the engine, trans, rear axle and a few other things replaced. The seller claimed it was a "True SS" in his item description. I foolishly belived him but after closely scrutenizing pictures I am almost positive this is not a real SS. The main reason is because the car only has a single fuel line, where real SS cars had dual lines.
My question is, is this car with $13100 as a clone? I only bid up to that much because I thought It was a real SS350 that had been buchered. The seller claims up and down it's a real SS350. I feel like the car was misrepresented and at the same time I should have done my homework too. I already gave the seller a $500 deposit before I discovered the single fuel line last night (I don't have the car, it's in new Jersey).
What do you think I should do?

kz1000ltd Jun 20th, 06, 02:11 PM Fuel lines don't tell the entire story. Look for either the disk brake proportioning valve under the drivers side door, or the dual exhaust bracket on the drivers side frame rail. Do a search on the subject and you will find pictures of both items. If those are present, you are probably OK. If not, then you still didn't do too bad, as long as you like that color, it runs good and it's not a bondo bucket!
BNZFixr Jun 20th, 06, 02:22 PM If the car is as stated in the add, I would think it is easily worth the $ even if not a true SS car. No rust and
new paint (if you like the color). Buy it, fix a few things and then re-sell if you are not happy at that point. I would not want to loose the 500.00 and the way things are going, you might even be able to sell for a profit soon if you choose to sell. Good luck!
RUSTY69 Jun 20th, 06, 02:26 PM 13k is a steal.....
GMJoe Jun 20th, 06, 02:43 PM looks to be in good condition for the price, probably would have brought a higher price if not for the color.
id say thats a buy.......
markr Jun 20th, 06, 02:54 PM 13k is a steal.....
I would agree...at least around here.
If the chassis is solid, I think you got a great deal.
Nine Inch rear huh ? ......nice.
South Side Goons & Hitmen Jun 20th, 06, 03:16 PM I looks like a great deal at 13k.....All SS cars had disc brakes on the front; so you have that going for you. Lots of people on e-bay think that all X11 cars were SS cars. That is incorrect. All X11 was is a style trim. I have seen cars with straight 6 cyl engines with X11 trim tags. If this car was not painted lime green it probably would have went for 18-20 grand easy.
The shock towers look solid and as mentioned above, all SS cars had disc brakes which this car does.
The bottom line: It looks like you got a nice deal at 13k. I would have bought that for 13k as I am looking for a 1969 myself.
Good Luck!!

Yes
In Cali, car would probably sell for $15k to $16k range.....IMO
The color reminds me of a lime popsicle.

rsbecool Jun 20th, 06, 05:15 PM From the pictures it looks like a great deal.
mkpatrick Jun 20th, 06, 05:16 PM What sort of grill is that? That is different from the other non-RS grills. If I wanted that type in my Camaro, which is a 67, what would I ask for?
Mud Rat Jun 20th, 06, 09:41 PM I think it was a good deal also. It could be my meds but I kind of like that green. I know the cops wont miss it.

TClovis Jun 20th, 06, 11:07 PM Looks like a Mopar lime green. With all the stuff you're getting, not a bad price regardless.
DougP Jun 21st, 06, 06:47 AM Agree with most of the other replies that a complete car with only minor rust and good paint (except for the color :) ) is worth every bit of 13K
al8apexer Jun 21st, 06, 09:17 AM heck of a deal for a rust free car in NJ
you can't buy them for that little out here in AZ or CA
