As some maybe aware our 69 got stolen just after Xmas.
Theives did a bit of panel damage...bit of R&R no big deal..never fired her up.
Went into police secure lock up over night for finger printing (they needed evidence as the caught them with the car still under tow)
In Police lockup, they smashed the sterring, column, steering box to fire it up, then killed the engine (old posts)
Panel parts done, engine rebuilt, balanced blue printed, designed new custom cam...And drove it out of the workshop yesterday, down to the dyno.
I was worried if I got the cam right....
Couple blips at the lights...I got it right, a real stump puller, like a BB at bottom end...It gave me a bit of a suprise and didnt even get 1/4 throttle.
Unfortunately the dyno had a urgent job on, so drove it the couple miles back to the workshop later in the day.
The only thing not confirmed is the economy, a big consideration in the design of the cam.
So off to dyno for final tune again today, then new tyres on the rear, wheel alignment, get door repainted (I chipped it in the workshop..stupid mistake)
Now my 18yr old son wants to line it up against his turboed /tweaked out Subaru...he didnt even ask for a drive....bloody kids...no class lol
Big thanks to guys here for the bits of info I needed over the last 6 months.
