It would help to know what car you intend to install AC in.
With enough fabrication, most anything can be put anywhere and made to work.
If you need a kit that is already engineered to fit and function properly, a classic auto air system may be what is needed for a 67-78 Camaro.
There are AC kits available for some 4th gen Camaros too.

Either Classic or Vintage Air make excellent systems. They are similar in the components they use. You would be WAY ahead to use a kit designed for a Camaro than to try to cobble something together from a different car. The kits come with all of the mounting brackets and hardware, as well as a warranty!!!

I say rip the pieces out of your Toyota and make it work. With some fabrication skills, and access to a TIG welder (to change the fittings on the ends of the hoses, or to lengthen the hoses, or change the angles of the fittings) you can make it work! As I see it, the biggest challenge would be getting the dash mounted controller to fit in your dash, or to get your factory controls to properly operate the cables from the donor cars controller.
I plan on building my own A/C system using donor parts, and original parts for my car. I will use most of the underdash A/C stuff that is factory on my car. I won't be using a "fresh-air" system however. I am permanently blocking the "Astro Ventilation" system, and the A/C will recirculate the interior air only.
I will be using a late model serpentine mounted compressor, and what ever condenser I can find at the salvage yard that will fit in front of my radiator. As for the under-dash unit-I will be using the Toyota truck unit, or the Nissan Pick-up truck unit-both of which are very compact, and include the heater core assembly in a nice tight package. Of course the dryer will be matched to the condenser that I pick as they are normally tied together by a hose.
