Hi all -
I just bought a '70 Olds Cutlass convertible on Saturday from a guy who has owned it since 1971. When he told me it was originally Daytona Yellow, I assumed he was generalizing and that it was Olds Sebring Yellow. However, it really is Daytona Yellow, and the trim tag does not show a code 51 for Sebring Yellow. It does show WA 3893B as the PNT code. Since 3893 is not an Olds WA code, I'm thinking someone special ordered this 1970 Chevrolet color. Can anyone confirm that WA 3893 is Daytona Yellow? Is it something else? Thanks in advance.

Well I checked the 1970 olds book and it shows no Daytona Yellow listed. I then entered the WA3893B into our mixing computer and did a search under "General Motors Oldsmobile" and it came up with PPP#2094 which IS Daytona Yellow (the same as code 76).
BTW WA #'s are used on all GM cars and trucks in addition to the std. 2 didget code, but you don't usually see them on the older modles.

Back in those days (don't ask how I know this) one G.M. division could have another division's colors applied to their cars. With the exception of Cadillac Firemist colors, the cost was only about $35.00.

My wife told me, but now I believe her; I AM getting old.

I have seen the same color listed for alot of GM cars. I believe the daytona yellow (chevy) is the same color and mix as the serbing yellow on the olds rallye 350.
