does anyone have a part# for a 1-wire alternator?

the local parts store dosent list whether the alternators they have are 1-wire or 3-wire

Local parts stores carry original type alternators which are 3 wire (like the 10 and 12SI's) Powermaster has alternators that can be wired either way 1 or 3 wire. In any case 3 wire your alternator, see reasons here

From where??? How many amps??? Jegs and Summit sell plenty of 1 wire alts in different amp ratings. http://www.powermastermotorsports.com/ also has 1 wire alts.

your auto parts store will have it, but you'll need to give them an application (MODEL MAKE AND YEAR) for a car or truck with a suitable unit.

'fraid I don't know of one, and I second undee's suggestion to go with an internal regulated 3 wire.
