Ok, this may be a little unusual but I just "inherited" a 87 Camaro with smoke colored t-tops. I hate t-tops. I hate the look, I hate the distraction when going under trees or when birds fly over. Just wonder if they can be successfully painted. If so, with what and how?? I'm not a paint guy, just want to know what to tell the guys at the body shop.

I had an extra set when I did my first car. Thought it would be cool to have a body colored set. I sanded with 220 grit paper for an hour, didn't put a scratch in the glass. Try locating a set of t-top shades. They did make them for third gens. My '02 came with them when I bought it new. Or, you would probably have to etch the glass first to get the paint to stick.
