How much of a gap is there supposed to be between the door and the rear quarter and the door and front fender? Are we looking for a specific measurement or do we spread it out between the fender and rear quarter?

If you can get to 3/16's front & rear gap, that is perfect. If not get 3/16's on the front, and weld a 3/16's rod ( I used a welding rod with the flux knocked off ) to the rear door skin edge and grind it back to get a nice even tight gap, that is what I had to do after skinning both doors on my 69. I now have nice even perfect gaps made of metal not mud. Hope that helps.
