What's the correct color for the hood latch and the hood hinges? I'm tired of looking at black!

Walmart sells a nice anodized bronze color paint that comes pretty close to the original phospate coating color. The brand is Color Place which is a Walmart brand. They also make a Bronze color (21034) that is pretty close to cast gray paint. The Bronze color is a little darker than the Anodized bronze color. Also looks pretty good on the rear spring leaves, and is a lot cheaper than Cast Gray.

Cast gray is a lot darker than detail gray, which is darker than but pretty close to argent silver. Cast grey is nowhere near the color of rally wheels.

You can re-phosphate them very easily. There's a guy in South Caroline who sells the chemicals (phosphoric acid. You just blast the part, stick it in the acid at 125 F, and when it stops bubbling, dry it off, and coat it with gun oil. I did hundreds of bolts, small parts, etc. on my wife's kitchen stove. BTW, she came home early, and caught me. Her only comment..."You know you're a redneck, when you cook bolts on the kitchen stove"
A quart of concentrated acid costs $15. Goes a long way. They have two grades; black phosphate(bolts, etc), and grey phosphate (hinges, hood latch, etc. I'll look for the number, when I get home, and post it.
