I just installed a 3000 street fighter torque converter along with an Albern posi with 373 gears...Question, is there a proper break in process? Also, using the torque converter properly, on the Launce or from the start is there a right way or a wrong way to utilize the converter? Any help would help?

You need to take a short easy drive and let the rear end cool completely. Then take a little longer drive and let it cool again. Then take it easy on the gears for about 100 miles. You can change the oil after that if you want to, but it isn't necessary.

If you have a parking lot "real" close by start by making a series of several left and right turns at slow speed. Let the rear cool down and , make sure everything is still tightened down and that nothing loosened up. Then go again for a little longer drive around town again making several right and left turns. Then take it home to cool down again and after that you should be fine.

A properly set up 3:73 should not whine. If it is only slightly noticeable at 40 mph and does not get worse as the mph goes up, you are ok. However, if as mph goes up it gets progressively worse, your gear life will certainly be shortened. Setting up rear end gears is a very precise process and should be done by experienced technitions only. Hopefully yours was and you have a warranty if excessive whinning is present.

It only wines a bit at 40 nothing over and nothing under...I will open today and check, at the same time change the fluids. At 50 MPH RPM is 2500.

Thanks
