I just bought a 69 the other day... Here's what the tag says:

It's different than my other car, which has an LA tag, and all the others that I have seen, which are Norwood cars. Can anybody tell me something about this?

VN = Built in Van Nuys California.
711 = Standard Black Bucket Seats.
69-69 = Car Color is Cortez Silver
I007 = internal plant scheduling code.

From the info it is a Van Nuys tag. Early Van Nuys tags had LOS and later tags had VN for the plant designation.

Nope, nothing on VN tags other than color, int, and date pretty much.

Could possibly still have the build sheet on top of the gas tank.

And no, bolt cutters are not the recommended tool for gas tank removal :D

You guessed wrong, but now I do http://www.camaros.net/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif. Just don't tell the car that it is transgendered... it may decide to break on me. It kinda likes being an 8 cylinder with a little muscle........................ so, shhhhh.
