I was informed of an engine that has been in storage that is reported to be a DZ engine. It has several non-stock parts on it, and I am not sure what heads are on it at this time.

Does anyone have any guesses as to what an original DZ block/crank (and rods) would be worth?? I believe the pistons are aftermarket, higher compression so it's not even a full, stock short-block.

Thanks!

I'll take a guess...I would say around $2000-2500 for a nice block, crank, and rods. Could be higher or lower depending on condition.

Depends on who needs it. Are there any stamps on the pad. What is the cast date and casting number?

It's worth a whole lot more to the guy with the car that matches the VIN stamp on the block :)

true that. I wonder what the odds are of finding that guy. does the engine stamp correlate with the VIN, I forget....

The partial VIN should be on the block. If it is down by the oil filter it is often very difficult to see, so that some people think the block does not have one. Some are on the pad next to cylinder #2.

The odds of finding the car could be very good at this site.
