How difficult is it to replace the window tracks on my 79 Camaro? And is there a lighter power window assembly than the factory ones. I want to keep the "feature" but lose the added weight.

not that hard, remove the door panel+sill plate (I believe there all one piece), the splash guard (if its still there) unbolt the window first and remove it. then unbolt the tracks 1 at a time and replace them as you pull them out, that way you dont lose your settings, and you dont forget what one goes where.

AS far as "lighter" I dont think so , but you can purchase a "Stronger" power window motor to make the lift and lower a little faster/ smoother.
