I have a 67 camaro, 12 bolt rear. I need to replace the rear wheel cylinders. The "auto parts" folks don't know.

The rear has date code K208 = Oct. 20-1968 supposedly, I am not sure. The rear also has CN1 on the other side and the casting number is 3894860N. All of these numbers are on the back side or facing the rear of the car on the rearend.

The backing plates for the brake shoes have 1/4" thick brackets the rear wheel cylinders fit in between and the "seals" on the rear wheel cylinders are internal not external like a lot of cars have.

Any one have some info would sure be helpfull.

Try another auto parts store. Just about any one of them should have a listing for what you need as it was a very common setup back then. All brake shoe wheel cyl's (made by GM) have internal seals and outer dust boots.
Be sure to hone the cyl's out to get the rust/pitting out if you rebuild instead of replace. The only question they might need to ask (I think) is the size of your drums. Good luck.

Thanks, um...the dust boots on these are not on the outside, they are internal, I should have mentioned that prior, that seems to be the whole issue ....I haven't seen any that look like these. I may see if I can get my son to take a digital picture and post it on here.

Sounds like the external dust boots a missing. For the price of new wheel cylinders I would just replace them.

I would definitly say go to another parts store preferably Napa, Carquest or some other big name professional store.
Here's what I found at napa.com
