I just picked up a turbo 350 to swap my powerglide in my 68 camaro w/327 and Holley 650 mech dbl pumper...I have read to many posts now I think!! Can someone please help me with a simple list? I know I need to change the console shifter detent and lense.
Can I use the powerglide cable connector at tranny and put it on the turbo?
Can I use the powerglide shift cable?
Do I need a kickdown cable holder on the intake manifold?
Not to sure how to hook to holley carb...
I see conversion kits available but they dont show kickdown brackets?
Thanks for all the help.

not sure on the shift cable and bracket, think cable yes bracket no but not positive.

Yes, you'll need to convert to a t350 cable style kickdown. You can pick up a repro cable holder and holley sells the right stud and such to hook the cable up, look in carb accessories on thier website, or just call Lokar, they can fix you up, but it's street rod stuff and a lil blingy.

Yes, it was a complete swap over, cable and all. You will have to remove the shifter detent plate and grind a relief for the manual selection of 1st gear.

Good luck. Is there an electrical connector on the pass side close by the filler tube? If there is, then it is a TH350C, it has the ability of locking up the OE convertor with application of 12 volts and ground.

Also,

Make sure to cut off the "ears" on the bellhousing-part of the transmission.

Look under M38 in the Camaro assy manual, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Good luck....

PG shifter will work just fine as-is. I know a lot of people say that you need to modify the detent plate in the shifter, but it's not absolutely necessary. The detent is also in the transmission, and it gives a good feel with no mods to the shifter.
Can I use the powerglide cable connector at tranny and put it on the turbo? [COLOR="Black"]Not sure what you mean here - you need to get T350 specific cable bracket and trans shift lever.[/
Can I use the powerglide shift cable? Yes
Do I need a kickdown cable holder on the intake manifold? Yes - Rick's first gen and others sell repros - cheap.
Not to sure how to hook to holley carb...If it's the old classic DP Holley (list 4777) it will hook to the throttle return spring part of the linkage on the driver's side. There is a hole there that the stud goes through and bolts on. I'd personally wait until I had my kickdown cable in hand before getting the stud - I believe there are a couple of different styles.
I see conversion kits available but they dont show kickdown brackets?
Thanks for all the help

Thank you all for the help...I have a conversion kit comming in the mail, seems pretty easy to swap.I dont see any ears on the bell housing that look to be a problem, but thanks for the heads up.How about torque converters? The new turbo has one,the guy said it was fine.I have no idea what the stall is or what I need? itsjust gonna be a daily driver.

Just look the converter over and see if there are any part numbers stamped in it, or manufacturer tags, and see what diameter it is. As long as it isn't some 9 inch dia holeshot type, it should probably be fine.

You'll also need a flywheel dust cover, if the 350 didn't come with one.

I did this in my 68, very simple. As the other guys covered, you do need the TH350 cable mount and the lever that bolts to the trans selector. I didn't cut any ears off the housing, and I was able to use the PG staple shifter no problem. Just takes good adjustment on the cable to get all the gears.

The kickdown cable and cable bracket that mounts on the intake are still available from GM; I can look up the part numbers if you need them.
