First look at the firewall after 38 year old paint was removed...any guesses at what it all means? Plan on reproducing it...just would be nice to know what it all ment?

Actually, not much to reproduce. It was all hidden under the firewall blackout paint.....

Ralley Green car...I thought the same thing, but it looks more like "Bramo" and a C/S under it..37 is pretty clear...Hmmmm.

Br Grn - Bright Green.

I see Bright Green (BRG), endura bumper (VE3). Maybe an OK after that, and a 1/5 below the first line.

Maybe a more head on picture would make it easier to read.

Kurt/Mark:

You boys can deceipher with that bad of a pic. Love to see what you can do with legible pictures (LOL)...man, you guys are good.

I love these old markings...just neat stuff - hand written assembly line instructions vice video monitors and computer print outs. Makes you remember these cars were built by men - not automation.

They are still written on current cars, just not as much.

Helps to have seen it before to know the shorthand. :) Don't think I've seen just BRG, hence why I think it's Br Grn.

body-in-white repairs (missed welds, etc.) were marked up by inspectors and bought off by repairmen with black magic markers - only thing that would write on oily raw metal. Very common to see strange black marks like that anywhere on the shell. :)
