Got the 700R4 bolt in this last weekend to my 68 that had a powerglide orginally. Here is the problem (I think a problem) the bolt holes for the torque convertor do not touch the flex plate in order to bolt them together. there is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch looking gap between the two.

So do I have to get a special torque convertor for this?
Is there a space kit that I can use?
What is going on?

You should have a min of 1/8" and a max of 3/8" gap. If you are within this range, just slide the converter toward the flexplate and bolt it up. Here is another thread covering the same topic.
