Hi Guys,
I have just finished putting a rebuilt correct '68 350 engine in my '68 Camaro Convertible. I also added a 700r4 tranny and added Vintage air, it should be ready today. I was at the shop today and felt the long awaited COLD AC. yippee. I noticed however that they used the ventalation balls from Vintage air and I had just replaced the old pitted Astro Balls with brand new ones and they looked great. Is there any way to use the new Reproduction balls with the Vintage air system, they look a lot better, larger and they are correct. I already changed the center vent from the cheesy little plastic one from Vintage air to an original big chrome one and Vintage air had an adapter for it.
This is not a big deal but something I would like to change out if it will work.
Thanks for any input.

Its not a favorite issue here, but I just recently installed Vintage air into my factory z after being without since new. Just doing too much cruising now.
I used a new factory dash pad and same Astro Vents. I just stepped up a size in duct tubing that come in the kit. The side vents are not noticable but center is. Its no problem to do this . On a 68 its prolly easier as both ball louvers are lower in the dash.. I did not use the ball vents sent with the kit as they appeared to small.

BD,
I have a 67 with the dash vents and Vintage Air.

I bought a couple of 2-1/2" to 3" reducers from VA. I bought some black ABS drain pipe from the hardware store. I turned down the pipe in a lathe until it slipped in the back of the vent. I secured the pipe in the vent with small sheet metal screws. This pipe also retains the ball and seal. Finally, the VA reducers (3" end)were glued to the short pipe. (about 2" long) Works and looks great!
