I currently have a GM style large cap HEI in my 68 camaro. The distributor does touch the firewall and I am looking at changing to one of the small body HEI's. Is the wiring the same for these types of distributors? Are the connectors and wiring harness the same? The reason I ask is I had purchased a wiring harness for my car that was already set up for HEI and it plugged right in to my large body HEI. I just wanted to make sure that my harness would plug directly into a small body HEI. If the wires are the same but different connectors I assume I could just cut off the connectors on my harness and splice on a connector to match the small body HEI.
