I have the Interior out of my 69 Camaro and was planning to paint the door jambs and other places that are not visible from outside of the car. Then I planned on putting the interior back in the car and gettint it painted by a pro.

Has anybody painted thier car like that? I would like to know how your paint job turned out and if there was any problems you might have had.

I have answered a question like this before.. You are doing exactly what you are supposed to however. do NOT put the entire interior back into the car until AFTER it comes back from the shop. Bolt in a crappy drivers seat and belts (if applicable) take it to the shop and then let them do their magic. (the reason for the seat is to make it easier on the shop guys to move the car around and be able to sit and stear.. Milk Crate seats are NOT easy to work with. http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif ) The reason for doing this is if you have ever had to clean out the interior of a car after going through the booth is that overspray gets all over and in EVERYTHING it cannot be avoided by the best tape and paper in the world. even plastic will not prevent it. Keep the new interior new. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif Also tape off the duct work so overspray doesnt get into the heat/air vents. I have to agree, strip most of the interior out of the car and get all the body work/paint done. Then, reassemble the car. You can save some money by removing chrome, emblems, bumpers, etc. yourself. When I take my cars to be painted, I always remove most of the stuff I can do myself.....
