I just purchased a '69 Prostreet. Just starting to research the history. Can I tell from the cowl tag if it is a Z-28. Original engine is long gone. Thanks.

If it is a later built Norwood (N) car the cowl tag (if it isn't a fake) will have an X33 or X77. Van Nuys (L) cars did not use the X codes at any time. Without the original engine and trans (numbers matching and documented) there is no way to be absolutely sure if it is a Z or not.

Thank you. I did a complete rebuild (every last nut and bolt) about four years ago after I bought for the wife. She loves to drive it and really gets a thrill out of getting the trophies.
