How well does it stick to the console? I just got a good deal on console for my daily driver and it needs some touch up. I am going with black over black so coverage is not a big issue. How sticking to the metal door?

I have a 67 console, had to paint the whole thing. I rattle canned it, don't remember what brand of paint, but it's holding up pretty good. It was done 3 years ago, but I think I need to touch up the door again. It's were I rest my arm while cruising. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

I just finished re-painting the plastic portion of my '67 console. Another post had suggested SEM professional plastic/vinyl paint, so that is what I used. It was $6.95 for the can and it comes in many colors. I used the Landau Black and it came out looking awesome and original. I also prepped the surface first with a thorough cleaning and a coat of SEM Flexible Bonding Clear ($12.99) as suggested on the can. I need to figure out what to use on the metal pieces to match correctly. Have not tested the durability of the paint, but the paint quality has my thumbs up. Hope this helps.

just about anything will stick, just as long as you give it a tooth, a red scotch brite works good.

the previous reply about the flexiable bonding agent is right on..most paint and body supply shops sell a "plastic primer", which should be applied with a light coat first whenever painting plastic parts....have done all mine that way..works great!
