I just purchased a repo console kit. There are no instructions with it. Can anyone give me some advice on this? I know generally where most things go, but I have no idea which screws go where. Thanks.

Do you have the Assembly Manual? It's all shown in detail in the D55 section.

Yes I do, and that did cross my mind, but I wasn't sure how good the detail on it was...I will get it out right now and see how much of it I can get together. Thanks JohnZ!

While the Assembly Manual definitely helps the situation, it is still somewhat impossible to tell which screws go where. If anyone can help out...I would appreciate it. Thanks.

The top and bottom halves of the console are held together with self-tapping 1/4 inch AF hex head screws. Almost everything else is fastened together with self-tapping Phillips, round-head screws. Hope this helps. I use bees wax to lubricate the self-tapping threads before screwing in the screws. Less likelihood of splitting the plastic or metal and it won't attack the plastic over time like some lubricating oils do.

If you could post a pic of the screws they gave you, grouped by size and shape so we can see how many of each you have, I bet between us we can tell you where they all go.

As an example, there are 3 screws that hold the console door hinge to the console. 1 or 2 of them also hold the halves together, and are longer than the one (or 2) that doesn't, tho they appear the same from the top.

The 2 that are silver pan head phillips hold the belt clip from underneath, nearly all the others are black and have a large washer head.

The 2 short black pan head phillips go up to hold the front corners of the halves together....

beyond That, I need pics.

Thanks guys...I think I about have it figured out through process of elimination and by searching old posts on here. The repo console shell seems to be constructed pretty well, but the repo door and hinge leave a lot to be desired. I am going to have to shim the repo hinge to get the door to be high enough on that side...not something I wanted to have to do on a brand new piece. I also had to slot a few of the holes on the repo hinge. How hard is it for companies to get this stuff right? I didn't have any other alternative than a repo and I was expecting a little better than this. All of the stuff is OER too. It's just sad.

I might take a few pics of the screws and send them to you Jim...so I can be sure I am right and it will be a good reference for someone that looks for this in the future. Thanks again.
