Hey,

I was asked to post this question on the Yenko site, but it also seems to be a great idea to post it here, too!

Bruce,
Please post this under discussion.

This appears to be a big block camaro radiator support, possibly RS. We don't understand the butterfly clips on the to edge, like a bb nova would have.

We thought maybe an air car, but no cutouts for condenser lines. Someone out there should know. We don't stump often, but are this time.

Thanks Schonye

Jeff, we were thinking more like 67 rs, as they were electric, vrs vacum on 68 69, and there's no holes for the lines. I think that's a headlite door stop in pic #1.

Here's my brothers 67 RS/SS 396... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I'm wondering about 66 67 chevy II, but don't remember those clips on them either.

i dont ever do this but i think those are for convertible core to hood seal and maybe ac only http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

So, can you guys help out? Could it possibly be a Nova piece?

I have a '69 SS/RS with factory air. This is the area on the radiator support where a seal would be, (seal is exclusive to an a/c car) but on a Camaro it is glued on and those clips (and holes) dont exhist. I dont think that rad. support is from a camaro.
Also, big block and small block rad. supports are the same. Support has holes provided for both size radiators.

I agree. Those clips would be to hold down a rubber seal that seals the rad support to the hood on an A/C car.

Not positive this is a Camaro rad support, or what year, could be firebird or nova.

I'll put a tickle in admin for Click to look at this, he has an original fact air 69 RS.

Howdy Bruce, long time no see, how's the Arizona summer this year?

upc C60 B3 in the assembly manual shows the clips 3767720 & no glue .the clip is a RS headlight stop. the condenser lines don't go Thur the core support on camaros.those clips are also used on the cowl of chevelles & body types like impala.

Yep the bracket inside on the support is the door stop to cushion the headlight door as it opens fully. The tab on top is to hold the rubber strip that a/c cars have on top of the support. Original strips had that metal formed somehow inside the rubber I think. When people remove the rubber it rips off the tabs. Repro ones dont have any clips so you have to improvise. I used velcro strips :) In that car if its original a/c car, it should have an extra hole in the inner fender extension for condensor line to pass thru, this is my 69RS views, the very outside 2 larger holes are for the air deflectors that are ONLY part of the a/c option along with the seal on top of the rad support.

Thanks guys for the help. I'll put a link to this thread on the Yenko site! You guys are the best!

BTW, Jim...Howdy! I still check in here almost daily...and YEP it's hot around here right now...it's the price one has to pay to cruise when everyone else's cars are put away for the winter. I'm still making sure that the posi on the Chevelle is working well...I took the neighbor across the street for a ride last night. Funny thing...with the posi...the car got kinda sideways? LOL He had a grin from ear to ear...

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Fourth of July!

Thanks for the responses. The reason we thought it was for a big block is that the fan shroud bracket is short vrs a long one for a small block.
So the concenses is that this is a 67 rs a/c support?

NON CAMARO radiator support.

not sure we know exactly what it is yet.

It did come from an a/c equipped f or x body.

I think if I read it right, click said the one bumber is a stop for the rs headlights, that would narrow it down to a firstgen Camaro RS. I'm not sure if all years used a stop like that.

We'll hear from some more people on this I'm sure

Were the air deflectors part of the a/c package on 67 through 69?

I'd say it's a 1969 support (or possibly later if non-Camaro) because it appears the holes for the voltage reg are small for self tapping screws.. -like in 1969.
1967-68 supports used rubber well nuts to mount the reg and required much larger holes.
