Hi guys, I have a question about a 68 Camaro tilt wheel that is on ebay. Is the 68 tilt wheel the same as a 67 tilt wheel? I was looking this tilt wheel for sale on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=190002781528&ih=009&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Does it look from the picture that everything is there or is there pieces missing? Particularly the part that mounts to the steering box. If there are peices missing would they be hard to find? I would like to put a tilt wheel in my camaro but don't want to buy a tilt wheel that needs parts that are hard to find.

Thanks,
Tony

I don't see the turn signal switch wires coming out of the column. I don't know if you can just remove the turn signal switch from your standard steering column and install it in a tilt column. That is my biggest concern.

The bracket that holds the steering column up into the dash should be the same between your standard column and this one.

Also, a tilt column requires a demountable flange to attach the lower steering column shaft to the flexible coupling on the gear. I think that your standard steering column has a permanently staked flange that will not work on a tilt column. I am about 99% sure that the identical demountable flange is available from Corvette suppliers. The flange takes the same part number pinching bolt (7807271) that is used to hold the flexible coupling to the gear.

I see that there is only 2 hours left on the bidding. I know that floor shift tilt columns are very rare. Hope this helps you make a decision.

thanks for checking out the column for me. I'm not sure either if I can use the turn signal switch from a standard steering column or not. Thanks Again.
