I was in the process today of finishing up the installation of the front license plate bracket and a small bracket that bolts to the center of the front bumper and has a rubber pad that apparently contacts the front lower roll pan. My questions are these: (1) Is the license plate bracket supposed to be perpendicular to the ground? Mine angles back. In other words, the license plate will be angled back at the bottom of the plate. Is this the way they were when new? (2) The small bracket I mentioned earlier appears to bolt in the center of the bumper on the inside. The rubber pad on the bracket is about one inch or so from making contact with the lower front roll pan. Is this the way they were when new? Seems kind of "Mickey Mouse"? This is shown in the 1968 Camaro GM Assembly manual, but does not show if the rubber pad makes contact with the roll pan. I appreciate all advice/info. Thanks!!

OK, I can't believe I have not received an answer to all of my questions. I can't seem to find answers in any of my books and have not talked to anyone who knows either. So I turned to this forum!

it's normal for tha trubber pad to be an inch off the valence.

My repro plate bracket was so crooked I tossed it behind a pile of stuff and haven't thought about it again.

Chill out, dude...
