I have a 68 396,fresh rebuild, stock fixed 4 blade fan, Harrison Rad, I live in California, and it is getting too hot at idle, not completely overheating yet, but enough to boil the coolant when I park it after a short trip.
Can someone give me an idea for a 7 blade and clutch setup that will match up to what is in the car? Will I need a new spacer?
Thanks guys, I really need to get these temps down so I can enjoy this motor!

Also wanted to ask if the 69 7 blade with clutch in Rick's catalog will work?

Yes, that fan and clutch will work.
Do you have the shroud installed?
Do you have the correct radiator for your BB combination?
Does it heat up at highway speed, or just in traffic or at idle?
What coolant temp does it show on the highway and at idle?
Is your vacuum advance working and connected to full manifold vacuum?
:beers:

John Z, thanks for the reply-
I went ahead and ordered the 69 Clutch and Fan setup, it was around $150 so I hope it works and helps me cool down in the California heat-
I do have a stock BB shroud, ther original Harrison BB396 radiator that I had recored, and my vacuum advance is from the manifold, the car runs great , so I'm assuming it is functioning fine?
I have console gauges, and I run upwards of the green "H" when at idle in ridiculous LA traffic, then she cools down to 1/2 on the gauge when I get moving again-
Right now it's running too hot to take out all day in the traffic, evening driving is fine, less traffic, and I sit at 1/2 way on the gauge all the time-
