The car has been running fine but when I hit the brakes the car started to die. I put the clutch in and kept it running but not sure what caused it. I also noted that at idle when I adjust the idle adjustment on one side all the way in that the rpm increases instead of stalling out. Also when i pulled the front fuel bowl site off that gas poars out more than just a trickle. This is on a flat surface with the engine off.

Your float in the rear is too high causing it to flood the engine during hard braking.
It sounds like your front float level is too high also.

I just adjusted the front float one full turn cw which should drop the float about 1/4" and i adjusted the rear about 1/2 turn cw which should drop the float. WIll run tomorrow and see what happens it is kinda late now and I have a scotch in hand...............

The correct float level is when the fuel is level with the bottom of the sight plug threads.
Just be aware that when you lower the float, you will raise the fuel level in the bowl until that surplus of fuel in consumed. (Just like the water level of a bath will raise when you lower yourself in.)
You may have actually raised the float level even more..

Good point! I would have thought by turning the adjustment which would push the float down that I was moving the stop to where the float would turn the flow into the bowl off sooner. i will see what happens........
