I got my car back from the body shop a while ago and boy was I dissapointed. I took my car to XXXXXXX Auto Body in Madison because he is supposed to specialize in Camaros. I sould have known he was full of it when he told me a second gen sub frame would bolt right up to my 69. Anyway, I was having new quarter skins, and a new trunk floor put in. For $1100 I expected a pretty nice job. Well, I went to pick it up and it looked good on first inspection. The trunk floor wasnt pretty but at least it wasnt rusted through. But, when I got it home and really looked at it I was shocked. First I looked under the car at the trunk floor and I noticed that there was a 1/4 inch gap between the new and old trunk floor where he riveted it on then welded around the inside seem. also the gas tank strap support/mounts where totally hacked to pieces. There were cuts all trough it. Even small pieces thet were cut off were welded back to the floor but not to the mounts themselves. He also burned holes all the way through my tailpan where he cut the floor loose from the hood hinge support. He also said he would have to fabricate a piece of iner fenderwell where the bottom rear of the quarter panel connects to it, but he just cut a piece of metal out and welded it over the old stuff. There are still rusted through holes all along the bottom edge of the inner fenderwells. When I brought these ehings to his attension he said he would fix it and said he would call later in the week. A couple of days later my mom told me as I was coming in the door ftom work that XXXXX had come over and fixxed the car. When I went and looked at it nothing was fixxed it was just caulked over! A little later I went out and bought a mig welder so I ccan fix it myself. Sorry this was so long, but please, for the love of god, do not take your car to XXXXXX Auto Body in Madison, Ohio. You could do a better job yourself.

Please send camaroracerlt1 an email if you are in the Ohio area and want more info on the shop he had problems with... It wouldn't be good for the site to get drawn into something like this if the body shop sees this as an attack and wants to seek legal action.

You know I think you should have not "XXXX" out the body shops name. After all isn't this site her for all of us to share our Camaro experences. I personally live in Ohio and if there is a bad repair shop I would like to know about it. Even if the post is false, I would still want to know. And if it were true I would really want to know. The site cannot get sued for someone on it saying they were unhappy with a shops service.

It is the sites policy and I will stand by it!! If you want the name of the shop do as I requested and e-mail camaroracerlt1!!

About one in three posts like this the shop that is in question catches wind of the thread and gets in Al's (the site owner) face!! Al is kind enough to provide these forums at no charge to you and I. The least we can do is honor his wishes!!

Let's face it, this site is here for marketing. Everone has to make a living and nothing is for free. With that being said this is by far the best Camaro Web site I have found to this day. I think it would be a great service of this site to list good (and Bad) body shops. It would really help those of us who would be looking for a good shop. Also I am sure the good body shops would not mind the extra busness (they are already probable very busy in my experence). I have no idea if the shop in question is good or bad, but members reviews would be a good thing in my opinion. We all talk about Aftermarket supplier's. I do not see a large difference between that and this. Perhaps if not here, some other members web site could start to create such a list. Just my 2 cents.
