My 69 396 project has stalled with a delemma. My crankshaft triple pulley (correct one) has 1/8" clearance from the cross member. I believe the problem is one of two things - wrong mounts / brackets, or the cross member has been slightly bent. I think I have the right mounts and brackets.

Can anyone varify by measurement the distance from the block to the bottom of the mount brackets; on both sides. Mine measure 4 1/8" on the drive side and 3 5/8" on the passenger side - HELP anyone!

If the engine is offset to the passenger side, you have the correct mounts. If your motor is not offset, they are wrong.

I have a 454 in my F Body. The cross member is dimpled so the pulley has lots of clearance. I tried to measure the distance from the block to bottom of motor mounts, but to much stuff in the way. I do have a new set of frame mounts I purchased from Ricks but we did not use. I measured these and 3950113 is 2.5 in and 3950114 is 2.0 in . Dont know what the motor mounts add, but those are pretty standard. Maybe you can measure your frame mounts to compare, hope this helps & good luck. Larry

Not '69!!

Go over to David Pozzi's great site and read up on this!!

And years ago, I posted what the '67/'68 BB and SB frame mounts measured as well as the dimensions of the rubber mounts!! If you want to search the archives??

And I think David have all this on his site??

Btw, there are basically 4 rubber mounts, three older ones and a newer one...

Get them right for your particular application as well as the correct frame mounts to save yourself a real hassle later with respect to header fitment!! If it is a concern??
