Anyone know the correct torque setting for the bolts on a 350?

Thanks

Dave

You only want to tighten the bolts about 5-10 ft-lbs. Any tighter might damage the gaskets or covers.

More like 40-50 INCH-pounds (4 ft-lbs.); don't over-torque or you'll distort the cover flange and cause a leak.

A general rule of thumb...
Ever wondered why spanners are different lengths?
They are like golf clubs...playing golf the therory is that u always hit the ball with the same weight, the shap of the club either sends it high and short or long and low.
In the same manner spanners diff lengths give diff torques...and the use of diff size bolts determines the torque.
It is important to become familar with spanners and torques...do this by using a torque wrench setting known 'tightness' then with spanners get the feel.
Mains, heads, carbs, suspension/wheel nuts ALWAYS use the torque wrench

I've always tightened till the touch and give 1/2 to 1 turn. Always watch for leaks.

i tend to use alluminum valve covers, they don't bend.
