Can anyone help or direct me to an area that I can fine info on adjusting door windows for better fit. I got the doors so they close better with nicer gaps, but the door windows no longer seal up to the convertible top rubber and have gaps. Is this fixable? I'm a a drive train and engine man, not a body man, so you have to speak real slow and clearly to me about this kind of stuff...ok :)

Are you sure the windows need adjustment or the top? If there's too big a gap at the tops of the windows, its a fairly simple adjustment to bring the top down a bit. If you look at the top frame just above the door windows, there's a small allen set screw that can be adjusted to bring the top down a bit. At least it's there on my manual top.

That allen screw is a stop. There's actually a different adjustment to bring the rail down anyway.
I think you're much better off adjusting the window. Take the door panel off and you will see that the vertical tracks have fore and aft adjustment top and bottom. Kicking the bottom adjustments out will bring the top of the window in.
I'm in the process of doing this on my '67 having started with the entire car AND top assembly dissassembled.

I agree - it is just a stop. But if it's screwed in too far, it kind of gives the top a bit of an arch there. I had a gap at the tops of my windows, so I backed those setscrew out a couple of turns, and the top now sits level across the windows. Took just a couple of minutes.
And let's not kid ourselves - these tops are are crude at best, especially compared to modern converts. I have screwed around with mine off and on for years - I used to have squeaks and rattles and gaps big enough you could throw a housecat through. It's all pretty good now, but nowhere near as nice as the new stuff.
Besides, I never drive it with the top up!

My camaro restoration book covers adjusting the windows. Can't recall but my fisher body manual might too. I'm not at home but I just got done doing this last weekend on my car. There are about 5 different adjustments that can be made when adjusting the windows and must be made in [b]order[\b]. I'd recommend flipping through one of those books unless someone else wants to type out the instructions.

The Fisher body manual covers the window adjustment well. It's kinda complicated, lotsa adjustments...
Lets see... near the top of each track is the "up stop" adjustment. They look like little "L" brackets with a tit sticking down. Loosen the 1/2" bolt on the "L" and move the part up to let the window go up higher.
Along the top of the inner door, there are 2 felt pad bolted on. There are "anti-rattle" and you can move them in and out against the glass. Adjustment is a compromise, they can't be too tight anywhere in the glass travel, but will be looser at some points than others.
The top of both tracks adjusts both in and out and fore and aft. If you need to adjust these, loosen the anti rattles completely first.
Pushing the top of the tracks out will move the top of the glass in when it is rolled up.
Just behind and below the inside door handle is the tilt adjustment. The mechanism that lifts the window is an "X". 2 point of the "X" are where the arms attach to the glass. The lower front point is where it attaches to the regulator. The tilt adjustment is the lower rear point, and it is a horizontal track the one of the rollers slides in. Moving the front bolt up will bring the front of the window up when it is rolled up. Moving the rear bolt up will bring the front of the window down when it is rolled down.
The fisher manual has pictures. Pictures are worth a thousand words.
