I recently entered my car in Classic Chevy International / Worldwide Camaro Club Show in Sacramento. Afterwards I had the opportunity to speak with some of the judges about my car. One of them mentioned in 67 the grill's horizontal lines were chrome in color. I have looked in the catalogs...old color pictures...books. I can't find a 67 grill with these chrome lines but they were introduced in 1968. It is my understanding that the 1967 Rally Sport grill was totally blacked out except for the side moldings.

Correct. The 67's were the black "Egg Crate" grill and the 68's had the chrome highlights. Did you loose points for this??? If so, you need to challenge that ruling.

I've had a few 67 NOS RS grilles and agree....believe the RS Z28 in 68 had the grille you describe...

I didn't loose any points...they were giving me tips to gain additional points. But this didn't seem right to me.

Chrome in '68 only. Your turn to educate this "judge".

I was there and am wondering is your 67 blue with blue interior, or white with gold interior?

OE 67 and 68 RS grille & headlamp covers were not the same.

For '67 the vertical and horizontal bars are the same height.

For '68 the horizontal bars are slightly taller to accomodate the hot-stamp bright applique.

Ergo '67s could not have had the bright trim. Some judge.

Could you post a pic of your car? I also have a 67 rs Nantucket Blue and I have been trying to find good pics of cars that color. Mine was changed by someone many years ago and I want to put it back. I think that color is awesome on the ones I have seen so far. I would appreicate it.
BTW my grill is blacked out too and I believe original judging by the age it looks.
