Hi,
I've recently joined the forum and I have a question about a motor I have, I'll give some backround.
The motor is a 73' L82 350 with a M21 4-speed with stock 2.02 heads, stock intake and stock 2.5 inch exhaust.
The motor was recently rebuilt as follows, bored .030, mild intake port work on the heads, CCxe274h cam, decked block to raise the compression to 9.2 to1, full MSD system with a 26 degree bushing and a 3.55 rear diff. I've had a hard time getting the car to run right( hard starting, excessive rich mixture, lack of any real power, eratic idle, general roughness going thru the power band). I had no luck with the Qjet so I put a holley Qjet replacement carb on and it runs best with the idle curcuit closed but still very rich, and a poor idle quality with a pretty constant 13 inches of vacuum, the carb is new.
The cam timing is set in @ 105 1/2. Is the cam too aggressive for the heads, intake and exhaust? Could my tranny not be geared right for that cam?
Any thoughts on my problem would be welcomed. I'm ready to pull the cam but I don't want do it for nothing. thanks for your help.
