Hi guys, I just installed some smokin wilwood brakes on the front of my 68 camaro and am now noticing the caliper is hitting the sway bar as I freely rotate the rotor/spindle assembly. I can't be sure if the steering would bottom out before this happens while driving but it has me concerned. Should the caliper be positioned toward the rear of the car? I currently have it positioned toward the front of the car......meaning when looking straight at the passenger wheel, the caliper is on the right hand side of the spindle - toward the front of the car.

Anyone else ever come across this?

!!!!!!! Everything is shimmed, locktited, and torqued now too!!!! Gotta take it all apart and start over.

Ok, thanks guys for your replies. See any issues with cracking the locktite seals? Will I need new bolts and nuts? And will I need a hammer drill to get everything apart now?

Hardware should be re-usable... What Loctite did you use? That will decide how hard everything is to loosen. Check www.loctite.com for more on bonding and breaking the bond...

Red Loctite. I just hope it will come apart. The countersink allen type bolt had better be strong.....

Yeah, I'd reuse the hardware too. I used the red also, but haven't had to remove anything yet.

If it's #271 it's removable with heat and hand tools...

Yeah, the red High Strength 271 is what I used.

You could just swap spindles side to side, but the steering arms have to stay on their respective sides.
