We have a 67 Camaro Convertible that was supposed to have been originally been bought by Howard Hughes for a family member. I have the Protecto Plate, but no way of knowing if this is indeed a true fact. Is there a way to find this out?

If the POP is truely the original to the car (VIN on the POP matches VIN on car), the first owners name is on it. Id start there and go thru Texas Motor Vehicle Dept. and see what they can find. I got some info. from them as my car came thru a few owners in texas over the years. Try to find that name in Google or if you want, hire a private outfit to track that name down then call em. Its fun being stealth and finding previous owner and alot of times they are thrilled to hear about their 'old' car too.

Thank you for that. We have so many cars that usually I cannot track on every car, but being who this is, it can change the direction of the pricing on the car.

Good luck. I traced my 68SS back seven previous owners. They were all very helpful, but I think the last guy I talked to has alzheimer's. Every time I call him, he gets all excited about helping me, then I don't hear back from him. Nice guy, but not much help. Good luck. Mike
