i called classic the other day looking for quarters for the 68 and the girl at classic says " do you want a fully assembled body for a 69 convertable?" sure i said, send me 2? haha. i asked how much and what was the definition of a full body. she said quarters, roof, floors, trunk, tail panel, and misc. bracing all for the incredibly low price of $10K, not incl. doors, front clip, or conv top. i didn't dare to ask the shipping price to detroit. by the way goodmark has retooled quarters avail but classic said theres wouldn't be avail for another 4-6 months. are the retooled ones being made by the same place?

The bodies are being made by Dynacorn International. Complete shell, firewall back. Provided the GM licensing goes through OK, they will be unveiled at SEMA.

Goodmark and Classic don't get along, and they use different sheetmetal. The retooled Goodmark stuff is excelent.

I have said this before and I will say it again if they start cranking out 67 68 69 camaro shell's they won't be a 68 to 74 nova on wheel's in the world :D

I think this trend will only help our 'real' Camaro's go up in value. I posted here earlier in ref. to this subject and the subsequent licensing/VIN issues with this type of vehicle. IF not using a VIN from a vehicle you own, in other words, transferring, some states have unbelievable hurdles to overcome in getting a VIN... essentially this new car may be a kit car.
Can't stop this trend or new wrinkle, imho. I think the interest is way too strong in owning a First Gen Camaro. We just have to accept it.

Here is a a picture of a few nova's (camaro cores) from one of the local desert boneyards. They are moving and are selling off some cars. www.dvautoparts.com (http://www.dvautoparts.com)

Better find a convertible Nova(yeah right!) because they still dont repro covertible top frames or cocktail shakers.

I too saw the Classic offering in their catalog. My thoughts are it will never be the same as an original - the metal gauge will be thinner and by the time you add up the cost of everything to make it a running car, you're well into the $30K+ range. Not much of a deal unless you have a vert that is in a serious accident and needs revival. Then again, look at the cost of a Superformance cobra.

Man there are some NICE trucks in that yard... look at #178... I would love to live near there and take several ones home for the backyard... start my own little junkyard LOL.

I agree with Rick. Unless you have a convert to start with it would be a spendy deal. They want 10k for the tub. You still need doors, all the latches/hinges/lock rods/regulator/glass,quarter glass plus regulators, fenders, hood, decklid, header panel, front valances, top frame plus all the little parts and hardware, top gutter, all the gauge clusters, dash parts, chrome trim the list goes on and on.Most of those parts are camaro specific,so buying an old Nova wont get em. Add a drivetrain and the price would be staggering. Not to mention when your done funneling your money into it its not a "real" camaro. I would like to see one in person. Is it all the parts that are available that have been welded together by hand in a jig, welds ground ,seams filled ect.Or is it spotwelded together as original? I have a feeling that they must be using some original parts because every part is not reproduced.Maybe they get a shell and dip it,weld new parts on it?
