Anyone know of a shop that makes carbon fiber body panels? I am looking for a hood, deck lid and some other custom parts.
Thanks.

I'll make you some for.......
ONE MILLION DOLLARS!!!
I had thought about this a while back. Tell you what- The guy who does the custom front facia on my 50-50 is going to do it out of carbon fiber. I don't see why a set of fenders couldn't be used as a mould for the fiber ones. If you made enough they'd be cheap, and you will have too much money coming in for them! Let's get to work!

ahhhh hemmmm... (clearing my throat)
you must of read that other thread where someone thought I was rich.....
Seriuosly, I have been looking for first gen carbon fiber parts and can't find any.... seems like an untapped market opp to me. I don't understand it. If I had any kind of rice burner I could buy every imaginable part in carbon fiber but nothing to speak of for first gen Camaros.

tples69;
Try contacting one of the companies that make up those Honda parts.
True carbon fiber items are not as easy to make as most people think. Unlike fiberglass, not only do you need a mold for the part, you have to have some method of "bagging it". What this is refering to is being able to apply a force to the material while it's still soft to force out any extra fluid and air bubbles. Think about a large balloon squishing out the extra resin.
An item can also be made up to look like carbon fiber without doing this step, but it's not a true "carbon fiber" item. My bet is that most of those hoods you see for Honda's were not "bagged".
Just for the sake of conversation, you could also make up an item using Kevlar, much like fiberglass.
